Mystery Machine @ The Roadmap - 11/22

Postby SmittyG on Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:47 pm

With thanks to Rich Walker, Mystery Machine will be taking the stage at The Roadmap this Saturday (11/22), around 8pm, sharing our brand of Estrogen-Free rock. If you get a chance, please stop in and say 'hi' and party with us for a bit.

It's been a while since I've been out to The Roadmap, I am curious to see how things are out there. Once again, I'll have soundman extraordinaire Roj Adcock on hand to ensure I sound great and that always makes for a sweet gig.

I'm willing to bet that Lent's hands hurt so bad for this he can't even hold his beer. For you folks that missed it, he was playing the hell outa those congas of his at Players. I'm real curious to see how he holds up to doing this two nights in a row.

But, are your fingers up to two nights in a row? You played 'em to the bone last night!
A very enjoyable night of music.

Not only did Lent prove me wrong on his beer holding abilities, he played the congas even harder than he did last night. I don't know how he managed it. This actually turned out to be a pretty fun gig. This is normally karaoke night at The Roadmap and a lot of folks showed up expecting just that. By the end of the first set, we had run all those folks off and the ones that remained, though far fewer in number, got into the spirit of things and seemed to have a real good time. I know I did. Once again, thanks to all the folks who came out and partied and visited with us this weekend--it made both nights really wonderful for me. And I can never say enough times how much Roj added to the show. It takes so much off of my mind to know that the bass is going to sound great out front and I can just focus on making a fool of myself. Good times. :D
