Trocks Tuesday Happy Hour @ Shooters

I know this isn't a normal "event", but I enjoy it and it is worth getting the word around. For a while now, several of the trocks regulars have been meeting up on Tuesdays as they got off work to have a beer and unwind with friends we normally only see on-line. I have been able to go to a couple and it is always an enjoyable time. Over time, the event has moved from one location to another as moods and attitudes shift and as folks get the itch to try another location.

Usually, this stuff is just done word-of-mouth, but I consider this an actual trocks function and want to get the word out a little better and see if we can bump the numbers up a bit. Starting next Tuesday (Dec 30th), we are going to move the Trocks Tuesday Happy Hour over to Shooters. As I said before, folks tend to get over as they get off work and such; I normally get there around 6pm if anyone cares; and it goes for as long as folks are willing to stick around and party. Thus, on many Tuesdays, it goes well beyond your normal "happy hour". :)

This will be my first time in Shooters as a customer (I went in once before they really opened on a business matter). At one time, I heard they had a pretty good line up of snack items and I'm looking forward to seeing what beers they have at the ready (I like trying new stuff.) So, if you have nothing better to do, get on off the couch for an hour or two, come out to Shooters and join in with some of the other trocks folks to meet and greet and have a nice time.

I wish I could claim the credit for this one. Miss Kindra is the brilliant brain trust behind Trocks Tuesday Happy Hour (which I will call TTHH from now on since I'm tired of typing it out). In fact, sometime I need to ask her, "Why Tuesday?"

Heck after a stressful Monday and winging it through Tuesday we (Lent and I) thought we deserved a beer. And since NO body in their right mind would drink with either of us ~ in public, we decided to drink together! LOL

Shooters is pretty OK. I know that sounds a little insulting but I wasn't too thrilled when I first went in the place--it just didn't seem very inviting to me. There was plenty of comfortable seating (yep, that is a major factor for me), a very nice staff, pretty good chow and the prices were very doable. Of course, the crew I was visiting with always makes it worth getting out. And, you can bet your ass I was out the door before their weekly karaoke even got close to starting up--I saw one guy wistfully looking at the stage and I was up to pay my tab. :)

I'm looking forward to getting back up there next week.

Well, my apologies here, but it looks like I accidentally killed this. By setting up the Open Mic & Acoustic Jam (OMAJ from now on) for Wednesday, a good chunk of the regulars for the TTHH have decided to stand down from this for the time being. I'm really sorry about this, folks.
