Jam Nite at Artspark - 4/30

Postby jennlockman on Tue Mar 17, 2009 1:59 pm

April 30th! BYO - bev, chair, food!

So far, we've got Ms Mac and the Groovetones, Ida Mytris and Boozehound. Any other bands interested?

It's a free event, tips will be taken up for the bands. It will kind of be like a mini-JJJ!
Lovin' every minute of it.

I think it is great they are doing this. The parks service used to do a show for a few Thursdays in the spring and fall but they fell out of favor. We need more shows like this. And I'm really pleased to see TRAHC getting more involved with our local music offerings.

Just a reminder: "Arts Park" and "Pocket Park" aren't the same thing. They're both downtown, but a few blocks apart.

Arts Park is the grounds around the TRAHC building.

Yep - the ArtSparK is on the corner of 4th and Main Streets, right next to the Regional Arts Center and Norton & Wood.

You'll hear us. Just go downtown and head toward the music!

Wear walking shoes. The 100+ member Blue Ribbon Committee is meeting in Cabe Hall from 6-8.
I haven't been myself lately. For some reason, people are sending me thank-you notes...

When you can't find it locally, try:

That's a lot of blue ribbons. Are they like gold stars these days?

Should be a nice night! Bring your own lawn chair and adult beverage... or child beverage, whichever you prefer!

I got a chance to swing by for a little bit last night. I thought it turned out great and had a good time (for the short time I was there). I only have one suggestion to the "Powers To Be".....

I may be way off, but I think it would have drawn an even better crowd if held on a weekend. I had to jet early due to 5am just comes way to early in the morning, and I can do without a lot of things... except sleep. Another thing about that is my family wasn't able to attend due to wife staying home with kids that have a scheduled bed time on school nights. Besides that i thought everything was pretty cool.

Look forward to the next one...Hopefully my family will be able to attend next time.....
