Trocks Spring Fling in the Park--April 19th

Sunday, April 19th, around noon (or as soon as you sober up enough to safely drive).
#2 Pavilion (by the playground) at Bringle Lake Park, at the end of Scott Wright Road off of Richmond Road.
PA and percussion will be on hand for an acoustic jam--bring your instruments.

This is a potluck event so we need folks to start posting with how many folks they intend to bring and what foodstuffs/supplies they are bringing in. There is a grill next to the pavilion but it looks pretty small and I've already heard talk of burgers and dogs as an option so keep that in mind.

As for me, I'll sign up to bring four folks, my bass, and a big old bowl of my cowboy beans and a load of Ellen's great cornbread. I promise to tone down the spices--oh it pains me to say this--a lot--for those of you with weaker constitutions/stomachs. I'll bring a supply of spoons, bowls and a few bottles of hot sauce for those of us who like something stronger than baby food.

It seems we always get the “I don’t know what to bring” or the “I’ll bring whatever ya’ll need, just tell me” crowd. Well I thought I would throw some stuff out there so people can have a jumping off point to start thinking of what they would like to bring. If you put down “I will bring the XYZ” and then decide later on, that you don’t want to, or can’t bring it, that’s cool. We can, will and do understand. I would just like to get a start on the basic fill of food and people that will be there.

So far we have:

I know more people want to be there for the good friends, good food and good music,
It's time to get out and meet your music community/Family!!

Chicken noodle casserole
Green beans (casserole/ almond/ garlic)
Corn (scalloped/ creamed /ears/Mexi)
Roasted veggies
Tomatoes ( roasted/ salad)
Macaroni (salad/ &cheese)
Potato salad (mayo/mustard/German)
Cole slaw (Asian/ cabbage/tangy)
Rice salad (wild/southwestern/ Asian)
Chips/ dips/ salsa (queso/ spin & artichoke/ onion)
Broccoli salad
Veggie tray
Meat & cheese tray
Fried chicken (somebody always brings it!)

It’s only 24 days till the 19th! Come on people don’t make me start callin out name like your third grade teacher did! Hahahaa

While the pavilion has a small grill, we have had an offer from a trocks member to bring out an industrial sized grill. Basically, whether this will be needed or not comes down to how much grilling/cooking folks are going to want to do on site vs. just prepping stuff at home. Just tossing that out there for those who might want to bring stuff to grill so you can sound off and let us know we will indeed need the bigger grill.

What kind?
Does this someone need some financial assitance with acquiring said meat?

Well, the voting ended with a clear majority for April 19th so the date stands. That is just a few weeks out, folks, so it would be really cool if everyone starts sounding off about what they are bringing--it helps build the anticipation.

I'll throw some corn-on-the-cob on the grill if the grill is going to be there. If not, I'll boil a butt ton of corn-on-the-cob and bring it.

I'm also thinking about a vegetable tray....or chips and salsa/queso. Depends on how lazy I want to be the closer it arrives.
