Well, actually it is a parking lot, but for some insane reason I'll never understand...it's called "Oil Heritage Park". Okay, okay... so there are a couple of statues, a piece of oil field equipment, & some bronze plaques documenting the discovery of oil in Union County, so that explains that...LOL!
Sami, you can certainly bring lawn chairs if you wish...a lot of folks do, but they usually bring in several sets of bleacher seating as well. As for vendors, I'm not sure...other than beer of course, which is supplied by the local Budweiser Distributor, Hepco, Inc. who is the sponsor for this event. They have a table set up to check I.D.'s & to acquire an armband, tokens, or coupons for beer.
Main Street El Dorado may provide a booth for water & soft drinks...You can give them a call at (870) 862-4747.
Also, if you're making the trip over...you might consider coming early enough for the "Showdown At Sunset" on the courthouse square one block up from the Summer Concert Series. It's a recreation of the historic gun battle that took place there in the early 1900's. They have a musical act, actors in period clothing, & a narrator telling the story of how it all happened... folks running, guns blasting, it's pretty cool if you've never seen it. Admission is free. Kids always get a kick out of it...LOL! Main Street El Dorado can give you all the info for that as well.
