Southern Pride @ Cedar Shake - 7/25

Postby SmittyG on Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:46 am

Totally forgot to post this before now. This Saturday night, starting at 9pm, at The Cedar Shake (or Frosty Mug--I can't keep the damn name straight) on 67. We will start around 9pm and fill the evening with southern rock (yeah, folks, even some Skynyrd), country (the real kind and the new stuff), a touch of modern rock and some blues (just because I can't take the stage without playing some blues--it's in my contract). As Rich likes to say: This will be our last gig until the next one (which, in this case, will be sometime in November I think).

Come on out tomorrow for some southern-fried rock with a heavy slathering of bass--I've got four strings and a full fret board and I'm gonna be using every bit of it for this show.

Busy day for me: I'm at Mic'd Music from 11am to 5pm then, starting at 9pm, with Southern Pride at the Cedar Shake out on Hwy 67.

Wasn't bad. By the third set, we really found our groove (we are majorly out of practice) and the honey's were hitting the dance floor for some bump-n-grind. The big downer is that there is NO ventilation on the stage--I bet I sweat 8 lbs of fluid into my bass. I had to totally dismantle the thing to clean it up this morning. I'm a little worried: the outside surfaces are pretty well water proof, but that neck pocket took the brunt of the deluge and looks like raw wood in there.
