NO It liveth, In October for the 28th year. my 25th.

this year has been pared down. the Ark. Stage is gone. Quit GROANING! it's all been moved to my stage, the Founders Stage. All live and Local. ALL local entertainment. Battle of the Bands and a Local headliner for the Street Concert/Dance.

The QUADRANGLE Festival will be Oct. 10th. The opener is already set, it's called Battle of the Bands. so if your involved in that, then your opening!!

the headliner is local and was mentioned to me, but I'm going to absolutely confirm before I say anything. Don't want to have to eat my words......lol

I don't' know the complete format, but as always, local high school bands will start. no pageant on the stage this year at 8. they were going to have several hours of dead time and since I don't have to mess with national headliners, I told them we should go back to the way it was 15 years ago and have locals again through out the day.

Since it's local entertainment this year, the Board wanted to lower the entry price for the concert. you can now get in for X dollars to the Quad, spend all day if you like, get a wrist band and for just a few dollars more come to the BOTB and concert that night. Or just come to the BOTB's and concert at a much reduced fee. There will be no cooler charge this year. you can bring it in after a certain time, but as always, all open containers will have to be on the west side of the double yellow line. I still laugh about that every year......Alcohol laws in two states....!!! ha

the lines for vendors and the size of the QUAD has been pared back some but we feel this will take the QUAD back to earlier years when it was always packed and be better for all. This festival was Texarkana's original and set the tone for others. Unfortunately, the others are gone, maybe to resurface under a new name, or maybe never. Time will tell. this one did poorly last year for ONLY the second time in 28 years. It is surviving even with the economy being down. So come on out and show support for your local musician friends and show the TMS board, that you support, " Live, Local Music" AND all of your musician friends. Let's all have some fun Downtown!!

I'll have more information as I get it. If you want to apply for the BOTB's, you can go to the Eagle website and see if the forms are up yet. or just call Eagle and ask. I do not know if the forms will be up on the TMS site or not.

We'll be out to support the music, as always....but, you mentioned no pageant this year on the stage...does that mean no pageant this year, or no pageant on this stage this year?

It will be my first time! Really looking forward to being there this year. Sounds like a great time!
