According to the Gazette:

What: Sparks in the Park Independence Day celebration

Where: The Four States Fairgrounds

When: Saturday

Time: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

TIMELINE

*There will be concessions and beer sales, and the following events begin at 4 p.m.:

n petting zoo

n inflatable slides

n rock wall

n Guitar Hero competition

n Ag Learning Center

n sandbox

n face painting

n games such as horseshoes, an egg toss, water balloons and sack races

n an ice cream-eating contest

*Mud bog races and live music begin at 5 p.m.:

n Jemiah Cannon opens the entertainment with gospel favorites

n Eric Shipp showcases country tunes

n Hazy Jane closes the evening with rock ’n’ roll

*A patriotic ceremony begins just before 6:30 p.m. with a B-52 flyover. The ceremony will also feature Texarkana, Ark., Mayor Horace Shipp and a Color Guard presentation.

*The fireworks show will begin after 8:30 p.m.
