That's a very thought provoking article there. I actually like the environment of today. There's so much more opportunity for talent, drive and determination among the actual artists. Record labels (independeent ones) can do those 360 deals with artists, and offer their services more on a business to business level where it just wasn't that possible before. I've published articles in the past, even on here too, about my touring & promotions basics called "The golden triangle of touring and promotion". Three distinct entities within each "region" that are all interdependent on each other as far as artists performing, selling product, and being featured on various broadcasts. It makes perfect sense for new artists, whether independent or associated with independent labels. And I really enjoyed hearing about the "weeding out" of the perceived competition out there under these circumstances. Those that don't do, won't do. No matter how talented they are.
